  2. Erm

    January 28, 2008 by dafyd

Yes, it turns out that I’ve rather neglected my blogging duties recently. Since the beginning of December, in fact. Sorry about that. I could say that I’ve had too much to do, but that would be a bit of a fib. Truth be told, I’ve just not got round to it.

Potentially, when/if I remember, I have a few things to blog about… but that’ll come as it comes.

  3. Lego is 50 today…

    …and Google knows it:

    Awesome!

I just finished building my first Lego sets for a long time – the new Raiders of the Lost Ark Temple Escape set and the Last Crusade Motorcycle Chase set – Best Lego Ever.

  4. Jobs

    December 1, 2007 by dafyd

Spotted while searching Google for any sign of Penguin’s graduate recruitment programme*:

    HMRC Grad Recruitment

    Skills necessary: erm…

*which, incidentally, I’m told does exist, but nobody seems to know where, how, when or why

  5. Any Dream Will Do

    November 25, 2007 by dafyd

Laura and I went to see the new London revival (ah – an oxymoron) of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last Friday. It was the Children in Need gala performance, with all ticket proceeds going to charity – it was also the only show before February that still had tickets…

It was pretty awesome (Lee Mead is a most excellent Joseph) – and this post is really to prompt me to blog about it more at some point in the not-too-distant future, as soon as I’ve got my uni work out of the way…

  6. Unfit for Purpose. Sound familiar?

    November 20, 2007 by dafyd

In the old days, a minister would resign when his department “lost” 25 million sets of names, National Insurance numbers, bank account details…

Perhaps Alistair Darling should go and join David Miliband on the naughty step:

  7. Diamond wedding

    November 19, 2007 by dafyd

I came across this photo of the Wedding Register for the Queen and Prince Phillip’s wedding, 60 years ago:

    Queen Wedding Register

I can’t quite make out the bride’s occupation (I think it says “Princess”, which would make sense)… but her father undoubtedly has the best occupation ever…!

  9. 30 Rock

    November 8, 2007 by dafyd

Tonight’s episode of 30 Rock, on five at 10.50, is possibly the funniest piece of television I’ve seen in the last year. Watch it. Or feel forever that you’ve missed a little piece of something.

Snapple is awesome. That is all.

  10. Top Gear

    October 29, 2007 by dafyd

Now, despite my natural aversion to, and deep-set loathing of, Jeremy Clarkson, I think you’d be hard-pushed to find any better televisual entertainment for a Sunday evening than Top Gear.

And yesterday’s episode was, to put it mildly, awesome. Not only did we have the much anticipated (and, again, awesome) head-to-head race between a Bugatti Veyron and, umm, a EuroFighter (best drag race ever – watch it), we had this bit:
