Meme time

May 24, 2006 by dafyd

I’ve not done one for a while, so here’s a new meme, found via Neil Turner.

It’s a bit long, so I’ve stuck it in the extended entry.

  1. What curse word do you use the most? Bummer. I tend not to swear huge amounts, though… certainly not in public.
  2. Do you own an iPod? I do indeed – a gorgeous 60GB iPod 5G with Video. Tis very, very nice.
  3. What time is your alarm clock set for? This morning, 6 o’clock. I had an exam at 9.30, meant I had to leave at 8 o’clock…
  4. What color is your room? Here in Durham, it’s a creamy off-white. At home, it’s blue.
  5. Flip flops or sneakers? Sneaker-y trainer-y shoes. I’m really picky about shoes – they have to be really, really comfortable.
  6. Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture? Taking it. I have no pictures of me from the last three years for that very reason. Anyone else got one of me?
  7. What was the last movie you watched? 10 Things I Hate About You – playing in the background while revising. The last DVD I properly watched was probably Garden State, and the last thing I went to the cinema to see was the Da Vinci Code.
  8. Do any of your friends have children? Friends my age? Not that I know of. Older friends? Yep.
  9. Has anyone ever called you lazy? Yes. But not often. I usually manage to give the impression that I work hard. Fluke of nature, I suppose.
  10. Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster? Not sleeping medication. I have taken medicine that sends me to sleep faster, but I didn’t take it to fall asleep.
  11. What CD is currently in your CD player? No CD in my CD player. In fact, I can’t think what the last CD I bought / listened to was. Last album played properly was, glancing at iTunes, Laura Michelle Kelly’s The Storm Inside.
  12. Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk? Normal milk. But I do love chocolate milk as a treat from time to time.
  13. Has anyone told you a secret this week? Yes. I can’t repeat it. Don’t ask me to. You can’t force it out of me.
  14. Who was the last person to call you? Someone from Lloyds TSB ringing about my Premium Account. Except they were actually looking for Mr Anthony Jones Snr. Don’t know how they got my number. Last person to ring me properly – Caroline, the UC team captain.
  15. Do you think people talk about you behind your back? I always think so, but I’m not sure I’m actually interesting enough…
  16. Did you watch cartoons as a child? Naturally. I had a Fireman Sam birthday party, I believe. Although that might have been my brother.
  17. How many siblings do you have? One.
  18. Are you shy around the opposite sex? Not really. I’m certainly not over-confident, but I’m not really shy. Going to a boys’ school didn’t necessarily help that, though.
  19. What movie do you know every line to? Embarassingly, Armageddon. And at least two Harry Potters.
  20. Do you own any band t-shirts? ‘Fraid not.
  21. What is your favorite salad dressing? Caesar, all the way. I love how the croutons add a little crunchy excitement…
  22. Do you read for fun? Yes. But not as much as I used to. I’m currently still struggling through Ian McEwan’s Saturday.
  23. Do you cry a lot? Not a lot. But I do from time to time. It’s therapeutic.
  24. Who was the last person to text message you? Jonny Scott. About the Castle Theatre Company website. Check it out – it’s sparkly beautiful.
  25. Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop? Both. Mind you, the laptop isn’t necessarily very portable. But it is awesome!
  26. Are you currently wanting any piercings or tattoo? Not at all.
  27. What is the weather like? It looks quite sunny out, but it has been drizzling and windy all day.
  28. Would you ever date someone covered in tattoos? I’ve never really thought about it. I guess it depends on the person…
  29. Is sex before marriage wrong? Not necessarily. It’s entirely a personal opinion, I think.
  30. When was the last time you slept on the floor? I really can’t remember.
  31. How many hours of sleep do you need to function? As many as possible. That said, I seem to be fairly permanently tired recently.
  32. Are you in love or lust? Not at the moment.
  33. Are your days full and fast-paced? Not normally. Sometimes I like it busy, but I tend to prefer to take things as they come, slowly…
  34. Do you pay attention to calories on the back of packages? Hah!
  35. How old will you be turning on your next birthday? 20. Wow. Not for a few months yet, though. Everyone forgot about my Official Birthday in April…
  36. Are you picky about spelling and grammar? God yes. Anally so. Don’t leave hanging prepositions around me. And make sure you know how to use apostrophes.
  37. Have you ever been to Six Flags? I have indeed. La Ronde, in Montreal. And I hope to go to a couple more next year when (if) I’m back in North America.
  38. Do you get along better with the same or opposite sex? The same, generally, but it doesn’t tend to matter.
  39. Do you like Cottage Cheese? Yes, but not too much. It’s nice from time to time, in moderation.
  40. Do you sleep on your side, tummy, or back? My side, I think. But, surprise, surprise, I’m not entirely sure.
  41. Have you ever bid for something on eBay? A few things. Can’t think what, though, off the top of my head. Oh yes I can – a floppy drive adapter thingy for my father who, it turns out, can’t use a computer. Or something. I can’t remember why it was me bidding and not him.
  42. Do you enjoy giving hugs? I do, actually, although it can sometimes be quite uncomfortable. Doesn’t necessarily happen as much as I like, either.
  43. What song did you last sing out loud? Heh, The Wombling Song by, you guessed it, the Wombles. I remember learning the words in primary school, and then I saw it on iTunes a couple of weeks ago… Oh, thinking about it, the last song I sang out loud was probably actually Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves. Don’t ask
  44. What is your favorite TV show? Give you one guess. I’m gonna have to find a new one, though…
  45. Which celebrity dead or alive would you want to have lunch with? Honestly, I don’t know. I hate these sort of questions. Someone like Arthur Conan Doyle would be pretty fascinating, though, I guess. Not just ‘cos of his books.
  46. Last time you had butterflies in your stomach? Straight before my French oral a week ago last Friday. Not as bad as before Arabic, though – which pretty much reflects how they went.
  47. What one thing do you wish you had? Honestly? Considerably less weight. Must work on that.
  48. Favourite lyrics? I love I Don’t Like Mondays, but also Magic Works from the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire soundtrack.

“Official Birthday”…well, if you will keep these things quiet then people will forget them! Just because Ian, Laura and myself have birthdays in the same week! Makes your all the more unique, although, thinking about it, it probably already is vaguely unique. I don’t know. It’s late.
