It’s sunny.
It’s hot.
It’s a Bank Holiday.
So why do we have to go to lectures today?
Durham is full of tourists in shorts and t-shirts eating ice creams, and we have to sit in a room in Elvet Riverside revising Arabic verb forms, watching people go past in boats, on what must be the hottest day of the year so far here.
The Castle has tours on every hour – and we’re “busy” revising.
Hmmph. It’s just not fair.

How do you think i feel!
The lecturer (Jon Rigg) at our 9am this morning said he would have cancelled it and had the lecture tomorrow, except for the fact that he was leaving for Malaysia this afternoon. Huh!
All right for some!
And we still have these stupid practicals to do!
From a college on a hill.

Yup – Aziza, our Arabic lecturer, thought that we didn’t have classes today (it’s her first year here). It wasn’t until another member of the department rang her last night that she realised there were classes. Even then, the only reason she came was because she didn’t want us to have walked all the way there for nothing. It really wouldn’t have bothered us…!
Just thought id say hi as ur one of the few people who has a bog site !!!! and ive just got so into it recently – i want my own proper blog site soon !!!!!!!!!!!!11

I totally understand how you’re feeling! I was at Durham Uni last year and around this time the weather was perfect. All you want to do was go sit on the balcony at Elvet, get a beer and BBQ or go down to the racecourse and kick a football or throw a frisbee around. Its for this reason that exams should really be in winter time!
Anyway, stick with it, you do get like 3/4 weeks of downtime after the exams, so it’s not all bad…
